Hi, my name is Ricc. I built my first ‘Cloud Lamp’ for my daughter in 2023 and fell in love with the design. Whether it’s for reading, a night light or even bright light we love that the lamp has multiple uses and even multiple colours.
I started doing DIY jobs around our house a few years ago - building wardrobes, booths, cabinets and even a reading corner. I then decided to try my hand at something more creative given my love for lighting. So found the instructions for making a DIY cloud light and have enjoyed making them ever since.
I believe great design should give you a sense of ‘magic’ every time you walk into a room. I believe ‘Cloud Lamp’ does just that. So in 2025 I decided to focus more time on making things I love. Things that bring people a little joy.

FAQ
The lamp is made up of paper lanterns, fire retardant stuffing (used in children’s toys), low-voltage LED light strip and various simple components used to hang and mount the cloud.
What is it made of?
Each lamp is made using fire-retardant materials and low-voltage LED’s which minimises any risk of over-heating. Conductive materials are kept well-away from the LED strip for added safety.
Is it safe?
Given the position close to the ceiling cloud lamps attract very little dust. Our lamp has been hanging in our daughter’s room for over a year and there is no colour distortion or dust when pressing a wet paper towel into the cloud material. For added dust prevention we also use an anti-static spray.
What about dust?
Our lamps start at around £300 (excluding decorations and transport). This includes all materials, parts and installation in the space of your choice. This cost does not include chasing cables into walls as we try to minimise any damage or changes to your space.

Reading Corner
I love a curve, so when the idea to build a reading corner came up I knew building a curve into it was a challenge I wanted to tackle. Softer edges and plenty of storage for all the many toys.
IKEA Bookshelf Hack
Who needs to spend over £1000 for a fancy bookcase. This IKEA hack was a super affordable way of creating a custom book case that had touches of luxury around the top & base.
Original ‘Cloud Lamp’
Where it all began. The original ‘Cloud Lamp’. Made using basic materials and a little rough around the edges, taught me some very simple ways of improving the overall look and process.
